Fresh from their historic victory, the CamSur Express—the newly crowned NBL-Pilipinas President’s Cup Season 2025 Champions—paid a celebratory courtesy visit to the Iriga City Hall. The team was accorded a hero’s welcome, met with overwhelming pride and high energy by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, Vice Mayor Edsel S. Dimaiwat, the Sangguniang Panlungsod, department heads, and city government employees.
The CamSur Express etched their names in the history books by bagging their first-ever National Basketball League-Pilipinas (NBL) championship. In a heart-stopping, down-to-the-wire Game 5 of the President’s Cup Finals last March 28, the Express edged out Tikas Kapampangan, 84-82, at the Pampanga State University Gym in Bacolor.
Iriga City holds a special place in this championship run, as our very own Iriga City Sports Center served as the battleground for the crucial Games 3 and 4 of the Finals series. Seeing the team clinch the title after fighting through those intense games right here in our home court makes this victory even sweeter for every Irigueño fan.
