Mayor Rex Oliva welcomed the new scholars under Iriga City Scholarship Program for the Year 2023-2024 in an orientation activity on Friday, January 26 at ICT Building, Sta. Cruz Sur, Iriga City.
After a rigorous screening process from onsite application, interviews, and paper screening, to validation, 65 applicants passed the said program.
Mayor Wilfredo Rex C. Oliva proudly announced the availability of funds for scholarships in his term, and he assured that this will be given to rightful beneficiaries – which are Iriga City Scholars. He reiterated the importance of education to our youth especially those who are included in an indigenous and marginalized society.
Mayor Rex also assured the scholars of the City Government’s continued support and urged them to do their best for their future.
Joanne Maureen Co, Scholarship Program Coordinator, orients the learners with the rules and policies of the scholarship program and the entitled benefits of the scholars.
