Mayor Rex C. Oliva declared the early release of the much-anticipated year-end bonus and cash gift for all city employees in a welcome announcement at the weekly flag-raising ceremony this morning. This annoucement aims to recognize the hard work and dedication of Iriga City’s workforce and boost morale as the year comes to a close.

The decision aligns with the Department of Budget and Management’s (DBM) newly issued Budget Circular 2024-3, which facilitates the early release of these incentives. The updated circular amends Section 6.1 of Budget Circular 2016-4, allowing for the release of the year-end bonus equivalent to one month’s basic pay as of October 31, and a P5,000 cash gift. These benefits will be issued with the first agency payroll for November.

During the ceremony, Mayor Oliva also expressed his gratitude to the city’s employees for their dedication, especially in the face of recent calamity. He highlighted the city’s fortunate escape from the devastating effects of Super Typhoon Pepito, attributing this success to the proactive efforts and preparedness of all city departments involved in Incident Management Team operations. Quoting Benjamin Franklin’s famous words, “𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥,” the Mayor emphasized the importance of strategic planning and unity in disaster response.

The announcement was met with applause from the employees, who appreciated the Mayor’s recognition of their efforts. The event ended on a hopeful note, with a renewed sense of resilience and commitment to maintaining the city’s readiness in the face of future challenges.

The early release of the year-end bonus and cash gift not only reflects Iriga City’s commitment to its employees but also serves as a gesture of appreciation and gratitude as the city looks forward to a prosperous new year
