Mayor Rex C. Oliva delivered the State of the City Address yesterday, January 10, 2024, over a year into his first term as the City’s Chief Executive during the 73rd Regular Session of the 20th Sangguniang Panlungsod of Iriga City.
In his speech, Mayor Oliva emphasized Iriga City’s situation before his term and how the new administration surmounted the city’s desolation and turned it into a new opportunity as he quoted “When in Desolation, we count our blessing-St. Ignatius of Loyola”. Also, he accentuated Article XI of the 1987 Constitution states, “That Public Office is a Public Trust,” as the guiding principle of every employee of LGU-Iriga.
Mayor Rex addressed accomplishments and commended department heads and heads of offices for their unwavering efforts and support of the city.
Moreover, he outlined the progressive plans for the years ahead, including initiatives that will further strengthen our economy, promote sustainable development, and enhance our citizens’ access to quality education and healthcare.
