Local Youth Development Officers (LYDOs), Sangguniang Kabataan Federation Presidents (SKFP), and representatives of Local Youth Development Councils (LYDCs) from across the 5th District of Camarines Sur convened last July 22 for a Coordinative Meeting held at the DTI-SSF 2F ICT Building. The meeting served as a platform to align strategies, strengthen partnerships, and discuss programs geared toward youth development at the district level.
The event opened with welcome messages from Iriga City SK Federation President Hon. Dessa Mare P. Lontayao; Provincial Youth Development Officer Mr. Valentine Joseph G. Sabareza; and Iriga City LYDO Ms. Quenie Marie April A. Gonzales.
Iriga City Mayor Rex C. Oliva delivered an inspiring address, highlighting the vital role of youth leaders in promoting inclusive and future-ready local governance. He also expressed his gratitude to the National Youth Commission (NYC) and the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) for choosing Iriga City to host this important gathering for the Rinconada District.
Key topics discussed included updates from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) relevant to youth development, timelines for compliance, enhancements to the SK Web Portal, and the LGU Readiness Checklist for the preparation of Local Youth Development Plans (LYDPs), all presented by DILG Camarines Sur personnel.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Nydia P. Delfin, PSO IV and Area Officer of the NYC Naga Area Office, who emphasized the importance of inter-agency coordination and proactive planning in the successful implementation of youth-led initiatives.
