The Local Government Unit of Buhi, through the leadership of Mayor Rey P. Lacoste, hosted the inauguration and blessing of the Balay Silangan Reformation Center at Barangay Lourdes, Buhi, Camarines Sur on March 1, 2024.
Employees and representatives from various stakeholders attended the activity. Those present during the unveiling of Balay Silangan were Michael Angelo Lacoste, representing Mayor Rey P. Lacoste; DIR III Edgar T Jubay, Regional Director, PDEA ROV; PCOL Julius Caesar M Domingo, Provincial Director, CSPPO; Dr. Kervy B. Lechago, OIC-MHO; Elenita M. Oliva, Municipal Local Government Operations Officer; PMaj Andrew J Alcomendas, Chief of Police, Buhi MPS; Sgt Ronnel De Guzman, base commander, PA; IA V Mark Anthony M Viray, Provincial Director, PDEA Cam Sur; Roberto A. De Las Llagas, Acting Provincial Director, TESDA; Jay Percival S. Ablan, Provincial Director, DTI; Brenda I. Gonzales, MSWDO-Buhi; Gilda P. Bustilla, PSDS-Buhi North District; Hon. Mackie Padrigone, representing Hon. John Paul C. Felices, SK Federation President.
Present also during the activity were representatives from the Barangay Council of Lourdes and other employees of LGU Buhi.
The Balay Silangan Reformation Center offers a lifeline to drug surrenderees. It provides temporary shelter, education, healthcare, and life skills training to help them become self-sufficient and law-abiding citizens. The program also includes interventions like counseling, values formation, and livelihood training to prepare participants for a successful return to society.
The partnership among all stakeholders was formalized thru signing of Memorandum of Agreement and Manifesto of Commitment.
