The Local Government Unit of Buhi, led by Mayor Rey P. Lacoste, along with Line Agencies and Civil Society Organisations, participated in the “Kalinisan sa Bagong Pilipinas Program” at the lakeshore of Lake Buhi. The activity is a synchronized clean-up drive that aims to raise public awareness, participation in environmental responsibilities, and the protection of the environment.
The program aligns with the DILG Memorandum Circular No. 001-2024 that encourages LGUs to invest in related programs, projects, and proper waste management.
The memorandum also encourages appointed and newly-elected Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Officials to conduct clean-up activities on their respective jurisdictions.
