The Department of Education Schools Division Office of Camarines Sur officially kicked off the Palarong Camarines Sur 2024 yesterday, March 18, 2024, at the Freedom Sports Complex, San Jose, Pili, CamSur.
Seven teams hailing from the five congressional districts, Camarines Sur Sports Academy, and the Association of Private Schools will be competing in different sporting events from March 18 until the closing day on March 21, 2024.
“Ang pagkawat po, ang event na ini memorable para sa Camarines Sur because I truly believe sports have a transformative power, not only in the physical structure of a human but also the character and mind of each individual. Events such as this create a better citizen that leads to a better Camarines Sur,” Governor Luigi Villafuerte said during his speech in the opening rites of the palaro, igniting inspiration among the hundreds of student-athletes. He likewise assured the SDO CamSur and every athlete of the support the Provincial Government will continue to extend for the progress of the sports development program in the province.
The opening ceremony was graced and led by SDS Norma Samantella, along with the officials and members of SDO CamSur, and mayors, representatives, and delegation heads of each congressional district.
