The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) leads the simultaneous nationwide launching of KALINISAN (Kalinga at Inisyatiba para sa Malinis na Bayan) sa Bagong Plipinas Program at Barangay Sta. Elena, Nabua, as the showcase barangay in Camarines Sur, January 6, 2024.
The KALINISAN Program is a convergence initiative to consolidate all efforts of the government to maintain and provide a healthy and safe environment for all by capacitating local government units and enabling community participation anchored on the tradition of “Bayanihan.”
DILG-CamSur Provincial Director Julius Cal-Ortiz said that this national undertaking that involves coastal, estero and street clean-up, aims to gather all the solid waste materials that will be generated and will be weighed to know the volume of garbage collected for the activity alone.
Ortiz added that this activity will continue on a regular basis for continuity, because having a clean community means having a clean mind and environment that will contribute to our development.
