Following the successful PSF-SWAMSS field appraisal, validation, and Exit Conference held on January 19–21, the City Government of Iriga, led by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, immediately moved forward with concrete next steps to ensure the effective implementation of the project. A post-validation meeting was held at the CMO Conference Room, personally presided over by Mayor Rex, bringing together city officials, partners, and key stakeholders.
During the meeting, participants thoroughly discussed the briefings, observations, and technical recommendations gathered by the national validation team during the field assessments. Partner national government agencies were also invited to help facilitate the securing of needed requirements for the various project components, particularly those identified in the Aide Memoire.
This decisive action reflects the City Government’s commitment to translating technical validation into meaningful results. Through strong leadership and sustained collaboration with partners and stakeholders, Iriga City continues to advance the PSF-SWAMSS Project, strengthening climate resilience, protecting vital ecosystems, and improving the lives and livelihoods of Irigueños across the project’s multiple focus areas.
