Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City – Over the weekend of August 10 to 12, 2024, Police Regional Office 5 conducted a series of successful anti-drug operations, resulting in the capture of four suspects. In addition, authorities seized a significant 218.30 grams of “shabu,” with standard drug value of P1,484,440.00 marking a substantial blow against illegal drug activities in the region.
One of the most significant achievements during this period was the arrest of a high-value target known as “Ron.” This individual was caught in Pasacao, Camarines Sur, in possession of 200 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P1,360,000.00.
In addition, Alias “Cam” was nabbed in Placer, Masbate, after selling 2.5 grams of “shabu” to a police poseur-buyer in exchange for PhP17,000.00.
In Albay, two individuals were arrested in separate operations. The first, known as “Dor,” was found in possession of 8.3 grams of “shabu” valued at PhP56,440.00. He was apprehended at approximately 11:35 PM in Brgy. Centro Occidental, Polangui, Albay.
The second arrest involved a high-value individual identified as “Jun” in Brgy. Marigondon, Pioduran. During this operation, authorities confiscated nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 7.5 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PhP51,000.00. Additionally, three heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing 1 gram of suspected dried marijuana leaves, valued at PhP120.00, were also seized.
These operations were carried out in close collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and other law enforcement units. All arrested individuals were duly informed of their constitutional rights and will face charges for violations of RA 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
