Information Communication Technology (ICT) administrators from various DOH Centers for Health Development (CHDs) and DOH-affiliated hospitals participate in a training on the Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) program, aimed at strengthening the department’s digital infrastructure and enhancing the management of secure, resilient networks.
The CCNA is a globally recognized certification that builds foundational competencies in networking, including internet infrastructure, enterprise connectivity, routing and switching, and essential security practices.
This training focuses on technical skills in designing, configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining network systems, which are crucial in ensuring the reliability and protection of digital health records, patient information, and other sensitive data across health facilities.
Engr. Mark Anthony V. Melendres of Converge Training and IT Services, the lead facilitator, encouraged participants to establish a “rubric for quality of experience” for end-users, which will serve as a practical framework in evaluating and enhancing the performance of IT systems and services.
The 5-day training commenced on Monday, July 21, 2025 and ran until July 25, 2025.
Spearheaded by the Department of Health – Knowledge Management and Information Technology Service (KMITS), this capacity-building initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to upskilling its workforce to support health service delivery, digital transformation, and improved data governance across the health sector.
