The Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development, in partnership with the City Government of Naga and the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), took part in the global call of combating Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS).
The activity forms part of the international commemoration of World AIDS Day, serving to honor the courage of People Living with HIV (PLHIV), fortify partnerships, and renew the collective commitment to ending AIDS as a public health threat.
Local leaders, healthcare workers, advocates, youth groups, and PLHIV communities gathered to give emphasis on Naga City’s significant milestones in achieving HIV prevention and treatment, while acknowledging the ongoing challenges brought by disruptions in resources, stigma, and service accessibility.
Through solidarity messages, community testimonies, and advocacy activities, the celebration underscored the urgency of sustaining our gains and pushing forward with compassion, science, and evidence-based action.
Together with Naga City and AHF, the DOH Bicol remains steadfast in championing U=U, expanding PrEP access, strengthening client-centered services, and upholding the rights and dignity of every individual irrespective of their status or identity.
