In celebration of the Elderly Filipino Week (EFW) on October 1-7, 2023, the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD), represented by the Family Health Cluster, along with Ms. Twinkle Jean P. Lorilla, Senior Citizen Regional Coordinator, has encouraged all senior citizens to get vaccinated with Flu Vaccine during the Walk for Life and Zumba Activities spearheaded by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Inter-Agency Committee for Senior Citizens.
The said activity held on October 1, 2023, aimed to celebrate and honor all Senior Citizens and their contributions to nation building and society.
DOH Bicol CHD were able to raise awareness on the benefits of Flu Vaccine, as well as announce the vaccination drives at the Rural Health Units (RHUs) in the region. The vaccination activities will cater and give priority to all senior citizens for the first (indigent) and second (non-indigent) week of October.
Further, members of the Federation of Senior Citizens Association of Legazpi City (FBSCALCI) and representatives from the members of the Inter-Agency Committee were also present during the launching EFW Celebration in the Region.
The said activity kicked off with a foot parade from Vel-Amore Subdivision to SM City Legazpi followed by a Zumba Session.
