Key officials from the Department of Education (DepEd) Bicol headed by Regional Director Gilbert T. Sadsad meet with the members of the Second Congressional Commission on Education (EDCOM II) for a consultative meeting on the implementation of the Learning Recovery Plan (LRP), at the Senate of the Philippines, Pasay City.
Being the first Region to develop and implement the LRP, Vice-President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte has chosen DepEd Bicol to represent the agency and to discuss before the EDCOM II the Region’s LRP initiatives including the results of the initial assessment of 8-week Learning Recovery Curriculum (LRC), DepEd Bicol Director Gilbert Sadsad explained.
The EDCOM II Sub-Committee on Basic Education will convene together with the officials from the DepEd Central Office to discuss the salient features of the agency’s National Learning Recovery Program and to elaborate on other LRP-related programs and initiatives. The consultative meeting will also highlight the presentation of the various learning materials developed by DepEd to help address learning losses brought about by the pandemic.
