The City Government of Iriga and Department of Agriculture signed today, December 7, the Memorandum of Agreement for Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion or INSPIRE Program.
The agreement will allow DA-RFO V to extend full support for the successful implementation of the Community-Based Swine Production through clustering and consolidation project under the SWINE Program to the intended beneficiaries.
With the INSPIRE Program, DA-RFO V will allocate 5Million to qualified farmer cooperatives and association intended for the construction of housing and facilities, supply of 100 heads piglets, and supply of feeds, drugs and biologics.
The project aims to increase local swine inventory of pork supply through production of heads finishers and provide additional source of food and income to the farmer members.
