In preparation for the national and local elections scheduled for May 12, 2025, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), in collaboration with the Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5), launched the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center (REMAC) at the PRO-5 Multi-Purpose Building, located at Camp BGen Simeon A. Ola in Legazpi City, Albay, on January 9, 2025.
During the launch, PRO-5 Director Brig. Gen. Andre Dizon stated that the REMAC will serve as the primary command center for tracking, coordinating, and organizing all election-related operations in the region.
“The REMAC is designed to facilitate seamless information flow and provide real-time support to police officers in the field, ensuring the safe, secure, and orderly conduct of the elections,” Dizon emphasized.
To efficiently collect, analyze, and disseminate information, PNP Bicol has equipped REMAC with advanced communication and data-gathering technologies.
Additionally, REMAC will be responsible for coordinating responses to any issues or challenges that may arise during the election period.
