In preparation for Undas 2024, the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) headed by Ms. Jaz Botor held a meeting with the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Committee (BDRRMC) at the CDRRMO Multi-Purpose Covered Court yesterday, October 30.

The meeting gathered representatives from all 36 barangays of Iriga City, including barangay captains, chief tanods, and barangay councilors in charge of peace and order. This session aimed to strengthen coordination and ensure a secure and organized observance of Undas, focusing on emergency response and community safety.

Mayor Rex C. Oliva led an open discussion, addressing questions and concerns raised by barangay officials. He emphasized the importance of preemptive evacuation announcements and reminded everyone of the role of BDRRMCs in maintaining order.

Additionally, Mayor Rex clarified the role of the LGU-Iriga, stressing that while the city government will support barangays through augmentation, it is essential for each barangay to utilize its calamity fund. Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat also attended, showing united city leadership in ensuring a safe Undas for all Irigueños.
