Bicol Medical Center (BMC) recognized the City Government of Iriga as one of the top performing local government units in DOH blood donation program during the Gabi ng Parangal at Pasasalamat held at the Villa Caceres Hotel last night, November 10.
The city headed by Mayor Rex Oliva was awarded the 2023 Zonal Recognition Jesse M. Robredo Memorial Sandugo Achiever for being among the top implementer LGUs on the National Voluntary Blood Services Program with a blood donation rate of 2% of their total population in the midst of SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.
The Department of Health-National Blood Services Program and BMC also conferred another award to the City Government for hosting the World Donor Day Celebration last June 14, 2023 where barangay and city officials and employees participated the event at Iriga City Sports Complex. The World Blood Donor Day is a way to appreciate our blood donors and recognize the importance of blood donation in helping patients in need most especially those in emergency cases.
Mayor Rex Oliva, City Health Officer Dr. Ronald Perena and Program Coordinator Philip Ravanzo received the said awards.
