The City Government of Iriga participated in the LCE Convergence: A High-End Meeting with Governors and Mayors for Ligtas Tigdas 2026 Campaign, held on June 26, 2026 in Legazpi City. The event was organized by the Department of Health Bicol Center for Health Development (DOH Bicol CHD) through the National Immunization Program. Representing Iriga City on behalf of Mayor Rex C. Oliva were Councilor Jor-El O. Caayao and City Health Officer Dr. Ronald G. Pereña.
The convergence served as a strategic platform for local chief executives and health leaders across the Bicol Region to align priorities, strengthen local leadership, and mobilize resources toward the successful implementation of the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR-SIA) scheduled on August 10 to 28, 2026, with a target of at least 95% immunization coverage among children aged 6 to 59 months across the region. Councilor Caayao had the honor of delivering the Message of Unity and leading the Pledge of Commitment, representing Iriga City’s voice and commitment before an assembly of governors, mayors, and health leaders from across Bicol.
The City Government of Iriga reaffirms its commitment to protecting every Irigueño child from measles, rubella, and other vaccine-preventable diseases, and looks forward to the successful implementation of the MR-SIA in the city this August.
