During today’s flag-raising ceremony, Iriga City marked a significant milestone with the turnover ceremony of the approved Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP). The event was attended by Mr. Joel R. Defeo, the Regional Director of the Department of Transportation (DOT) and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region V. This approval marks a significant advancement in local public transport planning and development.

In his address, Mr. Defeo highlighted the potential benefits of the newly approved transport routes, emphasizing their alignment with broader goals of regional development and public welfare.

Iriga City also has achieved a pioneering milestone as the first city in the Bicol Region to receive approval for its LPTRP from the LTFRB RO V.

The LPTRP, detailed in Memorandum Circular No. 2024-016 “Operational Guidelines on the Approved Local Public Transport Route Plan (LPTRP) of the City of Iriga, Camarines Sur,” has been meticulously designed to enhance the public transportation system within the city. It promises to improve connectivity and convenience for all residents. The plan includes the opening of new and developmental routes, which are anticipated to alleviate traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and provide more efficient transportation options for the riding public.

This development is expected to have a transformative impact on the daily lives of Iriga City’s residents, fostering economic growth and enhancing the overall quality of life in the city.

Today’s flag-raising ceremony, sponsored by the Iriga City Central Terminal under the leadership of Ms. Analiza B. Martinez, served as a fitting prelude to this historic transportation milestone.
