The City Government of Iriga has once again proven its steadfast commitment to child welfare and development after being conferred the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance (SCFLG) for the fifth time, following its successful performance in the 2024 Child-Friendly Local Governance Audit (CFLGA).
The awarding ceremony was held at the Legazpi City Convention Center, Airport Road, Legazpi City, where the recognition was received on behalf of the city by Executive Secretary Ailyn Alferez and Josephine Serdeño, Social Welfare Officer III from the Office of the City Social Welfare and Development (OCSWD).
The SCFLG is a prestigious recognition given to local government units that demonstrate exceptional performance in promoting child-friendly policies, programs, projects, and services. LGU Iriga was evaluated on various indicators under five core pillars: child survival, development, protection, participation, and governance.
This fifth conferment of the award reaffirms Iriga City’s dedication to creating a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment for children. The recognition also serves as both a challenge and an opportunity for the city to further strengthen initiatives in health, education, child protection, and meaningful participation of children in local governance.
City officials vow to sustain and enhance efforts in championing the rights and welfare of Irigueño children, in line with the city’s vision of building resilient, inclusive, and child-centered communities.
