Iriga: Caramoran School of Fisheries students start work immersion at BFAR5

Nineteen (19) Senior High School students from Caramoran School of Fisheries – Grade 12 TVL (Technical Vocational Livelihood) got started thier work immersion focusing in Food Processing in Palnab Brackishwater Demonstration Farm, Virac Catanduanes on May 15, 2023

PFO Jorge T. Camacho graced the orientation program for Work Immersion, he emphasized that BFAR are always willing to help and assist students for thier future endeavor.

Students were provided with lecture and discussion on Post-Harvest Technology – Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Fisheries Livelihood Opportunities, Post-Harvest Handling Prior to Processing, Traditional Method, Packaging and Labeling and Step by step procedure of bangus deboning and various fish value-adding.

The Work Immersion Program is a mandatory requirement of the Department of Education K – 12 Program for Senior High School Curriculum. Its aims to provide learners a first-hand experience in the actual field of work. (Jv Navarro Verdeflor Jr via BFAR V, photos credits to the owners)
