Camp BGen Simeon A Ola, Legazpi City — Three members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) voluntarily surrendered to PRO5 in Bicol during the weekend, following the relentless efforts of PRO5.

In Masbate, a 37-year-old member of the MB SQD 3, PLTN1, KLG NORTH, SRC4, under the leadership of Mario Esparraguera a.k.a. “Ka Mayong,” surrendered to the San Fernando Municipal Police Station (MPS). The surrender was facilitated through the continuous operations of local law enforcement.

Meanwhile, in Albay, two other CTG members, identified as “Alyas Ben” and “Magno,” both residents of Barangay 7 Poblacion, Camalig, Albay, also surrendered. The joint efforts of the 31st Infantry Battalion (IB) of the Philippine Army, Regional Intelligence Unit 5 (RIU5), Regional Investigation Division (RID), Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU) of Albay, Camalig MPS, 1st and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Companies (PMFC) of Albay PPO, and the local government unit of Camalig facilitated their voluntary surrender.

The rebel returnees have successfully undergone a thorough debriefing process to assess their involvement in the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and to gather critical information regarding their activities. Following this, they will be supported under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP), a key government initiative to facilitate the smooth reintegration of former rebels into mainstream society.
