Love filled the air as 18 couples officially tied the knot during a Valentine’s Day mass wedding held on February 14, 2026, at the Perpetual Help Covered Court in Perpetual Help, Iriga City. Solemnized by Mayor Rex C. Oliva, the ceremony transformed the venue into a celebration of commitment, unity, and new beginnings, as families and friends gathered to witness the couples take their vows on one of the most romantic days of the year.

The event was organized by the Local Government Unit of Iriga through the Local Civil Registrar Office, led by CCR Ma. Nancy R. Occiano and staff, in partnership with Barangay Perpetual Help under the leadership of PB Eduardo Dimaiwat. The initiative reflects the city government’s continuing commitment to strengthening families and making legal marriage more accessible to its constituents. Each newlywed couple received ₱1,000 in cash assistance and one sack of rice as a gesture of support from the city.

Joining the celebration were Vice Mayor Edsel Dimaiwat, Councilor Dandreb Abonite, Councilor JM Grimaldo, and Executive Secretary Ailyn N. Alferez, whose presence underscored the local government’s shared joy in the milestone of the couples. Representatives from the Philippine Statistics Authority, including Ms. Rowela Fe R. Gasgas, Ms. Jillian Lutelte, and Mr. Danilo Rodrigo Jr., were also present to assist with the necessary documentation.

More than a simple ceremony, the Valentine’s mass wedding stood as a heartfelt testament to the city’s advocacy for strong family foundations. For the 18 couples, the day marked not only the start of married life but also a shared promise celebrated by a supportive community proud to witness their journey begin.
