Iriga: 1,160-strong PNP RSSF contingent undergo 4-week training for may polls

Following the recall of 16,820 uniformed personnel of the Philippine National Police undergoing career courses and field training program who will be deployed for election duties, some 1,160 members of the PNP NHQ Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) have likewise commenced a four-week training that started on April 7, 2022 and will culminate on April 29, 2022 as the PNP gears-up security preparations for the forthcoming May 9, 2022 National and Local Elections (NLE).

The opening ceremony of the NLE 2022 Training for RSSF Members was held on Friday at the PNP Transformation Oval, Camp Crame, Quezon City and was graced by PNP Deputy Chief for Operations/ Commander Security Task Force NLE 2022, PLTGen Ferdinand O Divina, the invited Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Speaking before the RSSF contingent, PLTGen Divina said that the PNP, as one of the deputized law enforcement agencies by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), plays a crucial role in the NLE 2022, thus, the said training is indispensible as they review and examine the existing regulations, laws, and mechanisms to safeguard election processes with the end goal of ensuring a violent-free and fraud-free elections as well as restoring the trust and credibility in the electoral process.

“As you undertake election duties, may you be reminded of the primordial obligation of every police officer to remain apolitical and always provide a professional, fast, efficient, and courteous response to a legitimate citizen request for police service or assistance”, PLTGen Divina said.

“I urge all of you to internalize this training seriously as this will surely play a significant role in our shared responsibility of ushering a peaceful, honest, and fair national and local elections”, PLTGen Divina said.
