The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has conducted a training workshop for all key officers of the agency’s law enforcement personnel across the country in a bid to strictly enforce road safety rules and regulations.

LTO Chief, Assistant Secretary Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II said the recently concluded three-day Training for Trainers (TOT) was aimed at upgrading the knowledge and skills of the agency’s law enforcement personnel in ensuring discipline among the motorists, especially that more people are expected to travel for the Holiday Season.

β€œThose who underwent this three-day training seminar are expected to conduct their own training program to all our law enforcement personnel in every province and region,” said Assec Mendoza.

β€œOur goal is to continuously upgrade the knowledge and skills of our law enforcement personnel to compel motorists to behave and observe discipline every time they use the road,” he added.

He said such training programs are also in support of the advocacy of Department of Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista to enhance road safety measures across the country.

The three-day training program was facilitated by the Traffic Safety Division (TSD) under the Law Enforcement Service (LES) and focused on implementing the provisions of Memorandum Circular (MC) No. VDM-2024-2019 regarding the Revised Guidelines for the Deputation of LTO Deputies and Deputized Agents.

LTO Executive Director Greg Pua Jr. welcomed the participants during the opening of the seminar and stressed the importance of LTO enforcers being always updated on the traffic rules and regulations amid the government’s efforts to ensure the safety of all road users.

Present as resource persons are TSD Acting Chief Danilo J. Encela; Traffic Safety Training and Advocacy Section Chief Beverly C. Sabela; Enforcement Section Chief Farish H. Lim; Regulation Section Chief Joel V. YbaΓ±ez; Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) Chief Renante G. Melitante; and Transportation Regulation Officers Allan L. Garcia and Jerome C. Rodriguez.

Assec Mendoza said he expects all LTO enforcement officers to implement and replicate what they learned in the three-day activity as they go back to their respective regions.
