Mayor Rex C. Oliva led the distribution of β‚±7 million worth of agricultural inputs, machinery, and equipment to local farmers on December 4, 2024, at the CDRRMO Multi-Purpose Covered Court in Sta. Cruz Sur.

The distribution included 1,280 bags of hybrid palay seeds, 1,000 bags of inbred palay seeds, 50 bags of hybrid corn seeds, 100 bags of fertilizers, and 100 liters of insecticide.

To enhance soil health and increase yields, farmers also received 1,000 packs of Humik, 700 bottles of Adaboost, and 350 gallons of Effective Microorganism Activate Solution (EMAS). Additionally, seven Composting Facilities for Biodegradable Waste (CFBW) and five grass cutters were distributed to support modern and efficient farming techniques.

Mayor Oliva stressed the importance of supporting the agricultural sector, saying, β€œThis β‚±7 million initiative is part of our continued efforts to empower our farmers, ensure food security, and drive economic growth in Iriga City.”

Farmers expressed their gratitude for the substantial support, highlighting how these resources would reduce production costs and improve efficiency. With sustained backing from the city government, Iriga’s agricultural sector is poised for greater productivity and long-term growth.

Organized through the Office of the City Agriculturist, the initiative emphasized the local government’s commitment to boosting agricultural productivity and promoting sustainable farming practices.
