Davao City – A secretary of Communist Terror Group (CTG) was killed in an armed skirmishes between the soldiers of 90th Infantry Battalion and insurgents in Sitio Rudson, Brgy Arakan, Matalam, North Cotabato in the morning of October 24, 2020.
The slain rebel was identified as Zaldy Gulmatico Polido a.k.a Joel/Cobra, Secretary of Guerilla Front 53 of Southern Regional Command 3, Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.
Army troops were conducting a combat clearing operation when they encountered more or less 17 fully armed members of CTG.
Firefight erupted at 8:30 in the morning which lasted for about 20 minutes. After the firefight an army troops seized one M16A1 with three magazines with ammos, three (3) Nokia cellular phones, one (1) Xiaomi smart phone, food stuff and enemy encampment that can accommodate twenty (20) persons and enemy valuable documents. No casualties from the side of government troops.
Major General Juvymax R Uy, Commander 6th Infantry Division said that the army troops are doing their best to defeat the enemy with the full cooperation and support of the populace.
