Joint operatives of CIDG, Surigao del Norte Police Intelligence Branch and Surigao City Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation on anti-illegal trading of petroleum products.
Police Major Alvin T. Caballes of CIDG Surigao del Norte Provincial Field Unit in a report said the joint operatives arrested Reno Placeros Lanote, 31 years old male, single and gasoline vendor. The suspect is a resident of Purok 3, Brgy. Poctoy, Surigao City. According to CIDG report, Lanote’s cohort identified as Alberto Patan, store owner was not around during the raid and confiscation of evidences.
The CIDG together with Intelligence Branch of PNP Surigao del Norte led by Lt. Col. Rex Infante and Lt. Bassel Monteroso of Surigao City PNP raided the place around 6:00 PM yesterday March 2, 2021 in consonance with the CIDG Flagship Project “Oplan Ligas” and successfully confiscated the following:
1 genuine ₱ 500 bill as buy-bust money with serial no.GF750127, plastic container color black (buy-bust item), improvised funnel, 32 transparent containers containing estimated 4 liters each of diesel fuel, 10 plastic containers containing estimated of 20 liters each of gasoline fuel, 96 Coca-Cola bottles containing 1 liter each of gasoline fuel, 4 pcs. plastic drums containing estimated 210 liters each diesel fuel with the total estimated amount of ₱ 50,000.
The arrested person was informed of his constitutional rights and nature of his arrest and the evidences are now under the custody of CIDG. The suspect will be facing a criminal case of Violation of PD 1865 AN ACT DEFINING AND PENALIZING CERTAIN PROHIBITED ACTS INIMICAL TO THE PUBLIC INTERESTS AND NATIONAL SECURITY INVOLVING PETROLEUM AND/OR PETROLEUM PRODUCTS, PRESCRIBING PENALTIES THEREFOR AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES”,BY INCLUDING SHORTSELLING AND ADULTERATION OF PETROLEUM AND PETROLEUM PRODUCTS AND OTHER ACTS IN THE DEFINITION OF PROHIBITED ACTS, INCREASING THE PENALTIES THEREIN, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
