Facial sensors to be used by LTO

The Land Transportation Office 9 (LTO-9) will use facial sensors in this computerized examination from new driving applicants next month.

The new system is geared towards ensuring more disciplined and educated drivers on the road.

Atty. Aminola Abaton, LTO RO-9 Director explained that the computed used by the applicant in the examination will automatically shut down once the applicant leaves the examination area.

This will ensure that only the applicant answers the question in the computerized exam.

The written examination which was once used by the LTO in testing its driver applicants will soon be scrapped in favor of digital examination.

The LTO is also planning to use other dialects in their computerized examinations.

“Maglalagay po tayo ng option button sa computer para sa exam nila kung gusto nila ng Tagalog, Chabacano, Visaya Tausug o ibang dialekto para maintindihan nila, so they can choose the dialect,” Abaton explained.

Starting next month, aspiring drivers need to undergo 15 hours of training in an accredited driving schools.
