Nanindigan ang Senate Blue Ribbon Committee na mananatili sa Senado si dating Customs Intelligence officer Jimmy Guban.
Ito ay sa kabila ng utos kahapon ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa Philippine National Police na arestuhin si Guban.
Ayon kay Blue Ribbon Committee Chair Richard Gordon, si Guban ay testigo na ngayon ng Senado kaugnay ng mga nasabat na magnetic lifters na naglalaman umano ng shabu sa Cavite.
Jimmy Guban will stay in the Senate until he becomes part of the Witness Protection Program. We have to ask him first all the names inside the government who were involved in this drug smuggling.
Sinabi ni Gordon na kasalukuyang nasa protective custody na ng Senado si Guban dahil sa mga posibleng banta sa buhay nito dahil sa mga nalalaman nitong iregularidad sa Customs.
Pinag-aaralan na rin ng Senado ang posibleng pagbibigay proteksyon sa pamilya ni Guban.
Iginiit din ni Gordon na ginagalang niya ang Pangulo ngunit kailangan pa aniyang tapusin ni Guban ang pagdinig ng Senado.
We cannot turn over Jimmy Guban yet. I’m in constant contact with the DOJ on this matter and we agree that there are still things that Mr Guban needs to elaborate on. Status quo must be respected, we are all co-equal branch of the government—Executive, Legislative, and Judiciary.
