DTI–Davao del Sur provides garment livelihood project to Magsaysay OFWs

Davao del Sur:  The Association of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Magsaysay, Davao del Sur received on Tuesday (Feb. 9) a livelihood project on garment enhancement from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Davao del Sur.

The Garment Enhancement Project consists of various equipment such as five units of sewing machine, two units of edger sewing machine, two units of cloth cutter/cutting machine and two units of cutting table.

The other equipment also include two units of zigzagger, two units of sewing machine with 110 stich application and built-in and one unit of embroidery machine.

DTI Provincial Director Delia Ayano, who spearheaded the turn over ceremony, said that the project is under DTI’s special program on Shared Service Facility (SSF) Project.

She added that the local government of Magsaysay and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) function as co-operators with the association beneficiary.

Magsaysay Mayor Arthur Davin urged the recipients to use the equipment and knowledge that they will acquire from the seminars, to help improve their livelihood.

“Kinahanglan lang gyud ang cooperation ninyo nga inyo pud ning ampingan.. inyong tun-an kay mahimo ning opurtunidad ninyo nga makatabang sa inyohang panginahanglanon.. ,” Davin stated.

The mayor also extended his gratitude to DTI for its continued partnership in implementing various projects and programs for the municipality.

On the same event, Davin also led the signing of Memorandum of Usufruct Agreements together with Ayano and the association’s president Lemuel Pejera….. Samantha Jabol, OIC Michael Manguhig RPN Dxkt Davao
