Davao City – The Department of Health (DOH XI) has brought the campaign BIDA Solusyon Kontra COVID-19 to the tricycle drivers in Barangay Monteverde and the Barangay Health Workers (BHW) in Barangay Leon Garcia today.
In a social media post, the DOH XI highlights the proper dissemination of information and education of key members of the community such as the barangay health workers in Barangay Leon Garcia and tricycle drivers in Barangay Monteverde in the proper manner of minimizing the risks of contracting COVID-19.
“The DOH Davao Region is joining the tricycle drivers of Barangay Monteverde and Barangay Health Workers of Barangay Leon Garcia for promoting BIDA,” DOH XI stated in a recent post on social media.
The said campaign seeks to raise awareness of the health safety standards of BIDA which clearly states the observance of wearing masks, frequent hand sanitation, physical distancing, and the importance of accurate information based on facts.
The promotion of the said health safety standards will guarantee to minimize the risk of contracting COVID-19 in communities in both barangays. This is because the proposed precautionary measures will stop the chain of transmission in communities.
“The tricycle drivers and BHWs have given their commitment to observe BIDA Solusyon Kontra COVID-19 within their respective communities,” the post by DOH XI added.
The targeting of the DOH XI with the said information campaign is timely due to the possible easing of community quarantine restrictions in Davao City in the coming month. As of yesterday, DOH XI reported a total of seven (7) newly documented COVID-19 cases in Davao City. (Kevin Caro)
