The Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) Foundation, in partnership with Bayan Academy, recently concluded the 18-day BPI TechVoc Training Program with a graduation ceremony held on July 15, 2024 at the Provincial Jail, Don Jose Aguirre, Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte for the thirty-five (35) Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) who completed the program.

Zamboanga del Norte Governor Provincial Rosalina “Nanay Nene” Jalosjos, through Provincial Administrator Mr. Wilberth “Jojo” Magallanes, expressed her gratitude to the Provincial Warden Mr. Michael Menorias. Indeed, this opportunity was made possible through his joint efforts with the TESDA and the School of Fisheries which provided the onsite technical skills training of NC II Baking Bread and Pastries, thus, training the inmates how to bake breads and pastries which can be useful once they serve out their prison terms.

During the ceremony, the PDLs were joined by the BPI Foundation Associate Director, Ms. Juvylyn “Joy” Reniva; Senior TESDA Specialist, Mr. Roberto P. Ricafort, Jr.; Mr. Linicio Lanojan of the Dipolog School of Fisheries; Bayan Academy Executive Director, Mr. Franz Luke S. Orbos; Provincial Jail Warden, Mr. Michael Menorias, personnel of the Provincial Jail; and the families of the PDL graduates. (Angelica T. Obina)
