CENRO Piñan headed by Dr. Adelaida R. Borja in collaboration with BLGU San Pedro Dapitan City, PNP Maritime Police, PNP Dapitan, Phil Coast Guard, PSA, and ORACIS conducts Mangrove Tree Planting and Coastal Clean Up Activity in celebration of World Wetlands Day 2023 on February 2, 2023, 6am at San Pedro, Dapitan City.
Around 300 mangrove propagules were planted and 9sacks of non-biodegradables were collected by the 90 participants along the shores of San Pedro, Dapitan City.
An Envi lecture on the Importance of Wetlands, Mangroves, Climate Change and Forestry Laws was given to the participants on the onset of the activity.
The activity aims to combat the effects of climate change by strengthening and protecting our wetlands.
