The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), through CENRO Imelda led by CENR Officer For. Nencth T. Ordoño, in collaboration with the Municipal Local Government Unit (MLGU) and Barangay officials, conducted the “Services on Wheels: One-Stop Shop” in the Municipality of Buug, Zamboanga Sibugay on December 5.
This initiative, a mobile program by the DENR, aims to deliver essential environmental services directly to communities. Services offered included Community-Based Forest Management (CBFM) applications, seedling distribution, chainsaw registration, issuance of Certificates of Verification (COV), Private Tree Plantation Registration (PTPR), Certificates of Timber/Lumber Origin (CTO/CLO), and applications for titling and surveys in residential, agricultural, and special patent categories.
The program also featured an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) campaign, providing details on reforestation, solid waste management, wildlife conservation, and climate change initiatives to enhance community involvement in environmental issues and promote sustainable practices.
Municipal Administrative Officer Rocelo R. Curiba expressed gratitude for the activity, emphasizing its importance in providing accessible services to the public. He recommended expanding the program to the barangay level to address distance and transportation concerns.
The event served eight clients for patent and deeds services, two clients for forest utilization services, and 29 attendees participated in the IEC campaign. As part of the activity, 100 indigenous Lumbayao (𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘳𝘢 𝘫𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘤𝘢) seedlings were distributed to the community.
This initiative reflects the DENR’s commitment to bringing essential services closer to communities, promoting environmental awareness, and strengthening public participation in sustainable resource management.
