Dipolog City – Four-hundred forty (440) National Service Training Program (NSTP) students of St. Vincent College in this city have attended the Communication, Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) on environmental protection by the CENRO Manukan on April 2 at the school’s Covered Court.
Forester Ferolito Cata-al, the Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Unit Chief (PAMBCU) of CENRO-Manukan, led the group.
Among the topics discussed were Importance of Forests, Biodiversity and Ecological Solid Waste Management. An open forum following the discussions was held wherein questions on different environmental issues were raised.
This activity is part of the collaboration of the DENR and CWTS Program through RA 9512 to initiate environmental education campaigns.
The DENR-CENRO Manukan encourages the youth to responsibly use social media platforms in raising environmental awareness and protecting the environment and natural resources.
