The Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte through the Provincial Agriculture Office leads the turnover of Agri – Fishery Integrated Livelihood to the different local fisherfolks and farmers on October 25, 2024 at the 2nd Floor, ZN Convention and Exhibition Center, Dipolog City.
The bundle of ZNAG Agri-fishery integrated livelihood turn-over of Inputs were for “Provincial Urban and Peri-urban Agricultural Program (PUPAP)” which includes Handle Sprayer (II capacity), Garden Hose, Garden Rake, Grab Hoe, Hand Towel, Plastic Container, (1251) capacity, plastic crate, plastic pot, seedling tray, shovel, sprinkler, bolo.
Another set under “Banca ng Bayan” Program were motorized boat, 2. 5GT – 1 unit, Marine, engine, 12 HP – 2 units, Lead Sinker, 3mm hole, Net – 0.02, 7k, 40m/roll, Nylon, 110 lbs. Nylon, #10, Rope, 2.5mm, Rubber Float, Shuttle, Plastic Binhian.
Under “Mais Binhian Program”, registered OPV receives seeds, inorganic fertilizer, 16-20-0, Urea, Muriate.  Mushroom Production Fruiting Bags and Native Chicken Dispersal which includes Native Chicken (5 heads/benes), Animal Feeds. The Cluster Sectoral Development Program was created by Mr Romel Jalosjos and these were the recipients of the Agri – Fishery Inputs.
The recipients for the inputs are Agricultural Team Galas Farmers Association Miputak Fisherfolks Association and Miputak Women’s Association for Provincial Urban and Peri-Urban, for Banca ng Bayan recipient is Kapunungan sa Gagmay’ng Mananagat – Minaog, for Mais Binhian is Cogon Farmers Association – Cogon and Tribal Farmers Association Diwan, Mushroom Production are Vendor’s Association of Minaog, Women’s Farmers Association & Transport Farmers Association of Dicayas, Miputak Fisherfolks Association & Miputak Women’s Association and for Native Chicken Personal are Barangay Cogon Farmers Association, Aktibong Kababaihan sa Punta Association and Vendor’s Association of Minaog.
Governor Rosalina “Nanay Nene” G. Jalosjos represented by Ms Lenie A. Castañeda of the Office of the Provincial Administrator delivers the message of the Governor emphasizing that the assistance is the continuing effort in increasing agricultural productivity and revenue of farmers and fisherfolks to encourage aggressive and competitiveness in agriculture.
Mayor Seth Fredrick “Bullet” P. Jalosjos through Mrs. Kat Uyehara Hamoy the Culture and Heritage Consultant of Dapitan City and President of Farm Tourism Council of the Province delivered a commitment of full support for ZNAG Agri – Fishery Integrated Livelihood programs and a high regard of salutation to the farmers and fisherfolk of Zambonga del Norte. Ms. Hamoy further states that the momentum and that the growth must continue to be observed and felt by the farmers and fisherfolk in terms of productivity and increasing income.
Mr. Rommel Jalosjos who was the guest speaker delivered a remarkable message focusing on food security in the province by enhancing skilled and productive farming localities motivated by business ownership producing income through agri-business activities.
Atty. Uldarico “Ricky” M. Mejorada, II former Executive Assistant of the Office of the Governor and Board Member candidate stresses the challenges and trends in the future of Agri – fishery livelihood in Zamboanga del Norte. He encourages participants to help the province to be free from hunger and malnutrition taking into account the contributions of agri – fishery to improve the standard of living especially to the poor for an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable life.
The vision of the activity is to achieve a God – centered, prosperous, and sustainable agricultural sector that ensures food security and adopting economically viable climate resilient agriculture technologies improving the quality of life of Zanortehanons.(Angelica T. Obina)
