The Department of Education (DepEd) on Friday announced that President Rodrigo R. Duterte has approved September 13, 2021 as opening date for School Year 2021-2022.
September 13, Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones said, is among the options that she recommended earlier to the President. Other dates are August 23 and September 6.
“We thank the President for his full support to the delivery of quality basic education for the incoming school year,” Briones said in a statement.
“We hope for our stakeholders’ continued cooperation and support as we prepare for another challenging yet worthwhile endeavor of educating our children amid a global health crisis,” she added.
The DepEd will release the school calendar for SY 2021-2022 soon.
