Donate pre-loved items, plants or other stuff to be bartered for school supplies.

With the popularity of barter system nowadays in this time of COVID-19 pandemic, the Youth for Peace Movement (YFPM) in Davao de Oro launched a barter for a cause project dubbed as Project Kambyo.

YFPM President Bernadette Festin shared in Monday’s Laging Handa NetworkBriefing with Presidential Communications Secretary Marin Andanar that the project aims to generate the needed materials and supplies in support to the teachers’ call for the ‘Bond Paper Mo, Module Ko.’

“May mga members kasi kami na teachers na at dumadaing sila sa amin na kailangan nila ng mas maraming bond paper, ink para sa printer at iba pa para sa mga gagawing modules,” Festin disclosed. (We have members who are already teachers, and they are requesting that they need more bond papers, ink for the printer and many other for the modules.)

Festin said that there are two ways to be a part of Project Kambyo: (1) to donate pre-loved items, plants and other stuff for bartering, and (2) to take part of the bartering by offering schools supplies in exchange for items the group gathered.

She also said that they created a Facebook page about the project for inquiries and updates.

Meanwhile, Festin urged her fellow youth to follow health protocol, and join in the campaign against the spread of the disease, even if that means staying at home.

“Kung nasa bahay man kayo ngayon, siguro iniisip ninyo na wala na kayong ginagawa, wala na kayong pakinabang.(If you are at home now, maybe you are thinking that you are doing nothing or that you are worthless.) But then that is the best thing you can do for now, staying at home since we are advocating for youth as a bio safety.” (Michael Uy)
