Davao De Oro Continues Gov’t Intervention Amidst Pandemic

Davao de Oro – In the course of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide, the number of Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) continue to increase especially in capital cities.

Through the government’s “Hatid Tulong Program”, a national government  initiative to provide transportation intended to stranded people affected by the pandemic, 38 individuals from Davao de Oro were part of the 129 LSIs of Davao Region who availed the send-off of the said program.

The group of LSIs arrived on August 23, 2020 at  Sports Complex assisted by the provincial emergency response team and were directly fetched by their respective municipalities. These LSIs will be quarantined in their facilities and will undergo testing.

To date, through the “Balik de Oro Program” of the province and “Hatid Tulong Program” of the National Government, around 5,000 individuals both OFWS and LSIs were catered province-wide from the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Meanwhile, to continue giving quality service to Dabawenyos province-wide amidst this pandemic, PLGU-Davao de Oro has its various initiatives catering essential services needed by its people.

To continue giving medical attention to Out Patient Departments (OPDs), “Call DdOC” keeps up its high-rating from patients catered by the four provincial hospitals through its teleconsultation. Farmers will also have its easy access towards selling their produce through the “DdO Online Bagsakan”.

A  Helpline System is also available through the official website of Davao de Oro which caters issues and concerns through phone calls allowing government offices to provide services through teleconsultation.

In the education sector, to uphold learning for all students, the province already partnered with DepEd to air its TV-based instruction through “Serbisyo Oro Mismo”, while ZRadio FM also airs the radio-based teaching program.
