Zamboanga del Sur – The province is raising its target COVID-19 vaccination coverage in order to achieve the desired herd immunity against the viral disease. On its 69th Founding Anniversary, the provincial government is putting emphasis on the importance of vaccination, thus, enjoining all Zambosurians to respond to the urgent call of the times – to be vaccinated.

Today, hundreds of individuals under the A1, A2, A3, A4 and A5 priority groups took their first and second shots of Sinovac and Astrazeneca vaccines at the Provincial Covered Court administered by our provincial health care workers. Pfizer shots were also inoculated to recipients at the rural health units.

Tomorrow, September 15, Pfizer shots will be administered to pre-registered individuals at the Provincial Covered Court. The ZDS-IPHO were the first to receive 1,200 doses of Pfizer vaccine in the province intended for qualified members of the A1, A2, A3, and A5 priority groups.

Just recently, Gov. Victor Yu announced that 10,000 more vaccines are set to arrive in the province courtesy of vaccine czar Sec. Carlito Galvez from the IATF.
