Benguet police operatives destroyed P6.11 million worth of marijuana in four plantation sites in Kibungan, Benguet.
More or less 15,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants and 25 kgs of dried marijuana stalks were discovered and destroyed from January 3 to 9, 2021.
The operation started on January 3, 2021 in Sitio Topinao in Brgy. Madaymen when operatives of Benguet PPO have discovered more or less 1,350 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants cultivated in a public lot with an estimated land area of 270 square meters. Said marijuana plants have an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php270,000.00.
On January 4, 2021, in Sitio Mayangao also in Brgy. Madaymen, same operatives have discovered 10 kgs of dried marijuana stalks with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 1,200,000.00.
The operation continued on January 8, 2021, in a separate operation in Sitio Batangan of Barangay Tacadang, operatives discovered more or less 6,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants cultivated in a public lot with an estimated land area of 1,000 square meters with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 1,200,000.00. On the following day, same personnel discovered more or less 8,200 pieces of fully grown marijuana plants and 15 kgs of dried marijuana stalks with an estimated Standard Drug Price (SDP) of Php 3,440,000.00 in Sitio Lamagan also in Barangay Tacadang.
All marijuana plants discovered were uprooted then burned on-site. Operatives only brought samples for evidentiary purposes.
