The Division Athletic Meet 2023 kicked off yesterday at the City Gymnasium, marking the commencement of competitions among students vying for a spot in the Caraga Athletic Association Regional Sports Competition (CAA-RSC) in 2024.
Under the leadership of Dr. Marilou B. Dedumo together with City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II and City Councilor Karl Duane Casurra. The occasion was also attended by enthusiastic delegations representing various schools under the DepEd Surigao City Division.
Mayor Dumlao, an avid sports supporter, emphasized the importance of competitiveness in life. “If you want to succeed in life, you have to be competitive. Do the best you can,” he urged the participating students. The Mayor’s active involvement in sports inspires students to strive for excellence and bring honor to Surigao City on the national stage.
The DepEd Division’s sports competition fosters healthy competition and camaraderie among students, allowing them to showcase their talents across various sports events.
