Commander of Coast Guard District North Eastern Mindanao COMMO INOCENCIO C ROSARIO JR PCG spearheaded the reseeding of 11 giant clams on 11 March 2021.
The endangered mollusks were turned-over to PCG from Brgy Roxas, Basilisa, Dinagat Islands to be properly planted to a new home in Punta Bilar Fish Sanctuary, Surigao City.
COMMO ROSARIO JR PCG, in his attempt to restore clam population, aims to secure the survival of giant clams for at least another generation as it is an integral part of the reef beneficial for both marine ecosystem and to people. (PCG Northeastern Mindanao)
