Climaco Conveys Sympathy To AFP, Kins Of Crash Victims

On behalf of the City Government of Zamboanga, Mayor Beng Climaco has expressed her sympathy to the Armed Forces of the Philippines and families of soldiers and civilians who perished in the C-130 plane crash Sunday in Patikul, Sulu.

She said the city government through the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO) had mobilized five ambulance vehicles to rush the wounded victims from EAAB to the hospitals here.

“The city is always ready to assist in times of tragedy such as what had happened in Sunday’s plane crash in Sulu,” the mayor said.

Recall, more than 40 military personnel including civilians on the ground were wounded and over 20 others died when the 1-30 crashed before noon Sunday in Patikul.

LTC Maynard P Mariano PAF (GSC) Chief, Air Force Public Affairs Office, confirmed that the C-130 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force with tail #5125 figured in a mishap upon landing in Jolo. The said aircraft took off from CJVAB to Lumbia Airport and subsequently ferried personnel to Jolo. (Vic Larato)
