Civil Engineers Week kicks off at Surigao del Norte State University

    City Mayor Pablo Yves L. Dumlao, a licensed Civil Engineer, opened the Civil Engineering Week today, November 18, 2024, at the Surigao del Norte State University (SNSU) Gymnasium.

    The event, organized by the Junior Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (JPICE) Surigao del Norte Chapter, marks the start of a week-long celebration focused on innovation and collaboration in civil engineering.

    In his keynote speech, Mayor Dumlao urged participants from various universities and colleges to embrace innovation and strive for excellence in their careers, emphasizing engineers’ crucial role in building sustainable communities.

    The event was also attended by the President of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (PICE) Surigao del Norte Chapter Engr. Benjamin R. Ensomo, JPICE Adviser Engr. Virne P. Portugues, and the Dean of SNSU College of Engineering and Information Technology Engr. Robert R. Bacarro.

    The week’s activities include workshops and discussions on emerging trends in civil engineering.
