CIDG 11 Probes SAP Anomalies In Davao Region

Davao City:  The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Regional Field Unit 11 (CIDG-RFU 11) is investigating into anomalies in the distribution of the Social Amelioration Program or SAP.

As of June 18, 2020 the CIDG RFU 11 has handled 22 cases where eight cases were filed and three cases are for filing. Most of the anomalies involved barangay chairmen, barangay councilors, barangay secretaries, barangay health workers, purok leaders, day care teachers, some cases involved civilians.

In Davao City, detectives of CIDG Davao City Field Unit have already filed two cases against a barangay captain, barangay kagawad (councilor) and barangay secretary.

“We are urging the public especially SAP qualified beneficiaries to report any violations on SAP distribution,” says Police Major Edilberto Leonardo, Regional Chief CIDG RFU 11.

Leonardo has ordered the unit to dig deeper into the investigation and expedite the filing of the cases if necessary to help facilitate the victims of these SAP anomalies.

The efforts of the CIDG RFU 11 is in line with the implementation of Republic Act 11469 known as Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. Violators of the SAP distribution will also be answerable to Republic Act 3019 or the Anti Graft and Corrupt Practices Act and RA 6713 or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees.
