Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The leadership of Police Regional Office (PRO)13 declared the observance of the Holy Week in the region as generally peaceful, citing that no untoward incident was recorded in the Lenten Season.

“With the help of our force multipliers, other government agencies, and the community, we celebrated the occasion peacefully and orderly. From Monday until today Easter celebration, our troops on the ground have never lowered their guards so no one can disrupt the religious activities,” PRO13 Director POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR., said.

Even before March 29, PRO13 had intensified the security preparations by deploying additional personnel in areas of public convergence, churches, ports, terminals, and main thoroughfares.

Local police units also beefed up the conduct of checkpoints and police visibility to ensure that churchgoers shall be safe and secured, and the health protocols had been strictly followed.

“We lauded the joint efforts of everyone in the entire process. The PNP cannot do it alone without the help of our partner agencies, local government units and other stakeholders,” RD CARAMAT JR., added.
